"Jailbreaking" your mobile phone

Mozilla has taken a position on “Jailbreaking” your mobile phone.

The letter to the Library of Congress is here (PDF). The main point is that Jailbreaking should not be illegal on personal equipment. It is a short read. If you are reading this, you probably already agree and support Mozilla argument.

    You know, we really should have better terminology for this. Waving a banner around saying “Jailbreaking is not a crime” isn’t going to go down well with anyone who doesn’t recognize the technical context… you’ll just get labeled as crazy anarchists.

    @simon the rallying cry isn’t for the non-believers. outlining why this is important is done very well in the Mozilla document to the LoC.

    Dought, Thanks for sharing about “Jailbreaking” mobile phone. I personally like things to be openly shared and more choices are offered.
